Whether you're heading to exciting Las Vegas, or touring the southwest by RV and seeking out-of-the-way spots like Willow Beach Marina - you'll find lots to do and see even in our remote locations on the Colorado River.
The Bureau of Reclamation started conducting tours through the Hoover Dam and Power Plant in 1937. More than 60 years later, Hoover Dam still stands as a world-renowned structure. The dam is a National Historic Landmark and has been rated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of America's Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders. Today, close to 1,000,000 visitors a year take the tour and millions more drive across the dam.
Willow Beach Marina & Campground
Rent your own deck cruiser at the Marina and enjoy the day fishing and exploring the Black Canyon south of Hoover Dam. Relax in nearby natural hot springs. Fish for largemouth bass, striped bass (Stripers), rainbow trout, channel catfish, crappie, and bluegill.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) offers a wealth of things to do and places to go year-round. Its huge lakes cater to boaters, swimmers, sunbathers, and fishermen while its desert rewards hikers, wildlife photographers, and roadside sightseers. Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce
Trying to describe Las Vegas in a few hundred words is a formidable task. Should the focus be on the city's mystic qualities - the dazzling lights and glittering resorts where more than 35 million pleasure-seeking tourists wager millions of dollars every year? Or should one look beyond the myth, at a southwestern metropolitan area that is home to 1.4 million people - a place with schools, parks, grocery stores, and quiet neighborhoods populated by people from every state in the union?
