Environmental Commitments
Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures, LLC recognizes the importance of the preservation of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Our most valuable environmental resource is the Colorado River and the surrounding natural habitat of the Black Canyon.
It is of utmost importance that this special land be cared for and preserved for the full enjoyment of its visitors now and for future generations to come. To achieve this objective, the Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures staff and employees are committed to make every reasonable effort to comply with all government regulations pertaining to environmental issues.
Explicit care will be taken to preserve the land, water, air and wildlife at Willow Beach and the Black Canyon. This will include the river's banks and beaches from Hoover Dam down stream to Willow Beach. This unique environment belongs to the people who visit and Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures recognizes its' responsibility as care takers. We also recognize that it is the responsibility of each visitor of this magnificent geological area to do his/her part as a caretaker while visiting the park. We are committed to the environmental education of our guests on the river and customers of the store and marina.
This commitment to the environment is a challenge to which we look forward. Environmental issues are constantly changing and there will always be new exciting innovative ways of protecting our natural resources. Black Canyon/Willow Beach Adventures is committed to its' partnership with Lake Mead National Recreation Area and will conduct its' business in accordance with all applicable environmental laws.
Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures hosted their first annual Ecology Dive on September 8, 2002 with participation by the National Park Service and Arizona Game & Fish. The event was a great success and resulted in 3,320 pounds of trash cleaned from the underwater of the marina, the public launch ramp, the resort shore, swim beaches and several nearby coves.
Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures made a difference to the environment by hosting the first annual Black Canyon Litter Cleanup Day October 26, 2002, in conjunction with National Make-a-Difference-Day. Volunteers picked up trash and litter along the eleven miles of shores and beaches of the Black Canyon, from the base of Hoover Dam to Highway 93.
